Connect Staffing is hiring an Order Picker for a distribution center in Houston, TX. This is a temp-to-hire overnight position paying $18/hr, Sunday through Thursday from 2:00am to 10:30am. In this role, you will use an RF scanner to pull customer orders from warehouse shelves, pack them, and stage them for shipment. This is a steady schedule with consistent hours and a long-term placement opportunity.

Responsibilities

Use an RF scanner to locate and pull customer orders accurately from warehouse shelving throughout the distribution center. You'll also:

• Scan products to verify correct items and quantities before packing
• Pack and stage completed orders in designated areas for shipment
• Operate a pallet jack to move and organize pallets and boxes
• Operate a cherry picker to pick orders from elevated shelving locations
• Meet per-hour pick productivity quotas consistently throughout the shift
• Follow safety procedures and warehouse traffic rules at all times

Minimum Requirements

• 1 year of order picking or warehouse fulfillment experience
• Experience using an RF scanner to pick and verify orders
• Ability to meet productivity quotas in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating a cherry picker or order picker lift
• Experience working overnight or early-morning warehouse shifts
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or scan-based order fulfillment software
• Experience in a distribution center, fulfillment center, or e-commerce warehouse
• Background in high-volume picking environments with measured productivity goals
• Preferred prior job titles: Order Picker, Warehouse Order Picker, Pick and Pack Associate, Fulfillment Associate, Warehouse Associate, Material Handler, Cherry Picker Operator, RF Scanner Operator, Distribution Center Associate, Picker Packer

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift
• Ability to work at a very fast pace and consistently meet pick-rate quotas
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish 
• Drug screen required
• Background check required
• E-Verify / work authorization required
