Key Responsibilities
- Generate, review, and finalize prebills and client invoices in accordance with firm procedures and client billing guidelines
- Process electronic billing submissions while ensuring compliance with client-specific requirements and LEDES formats
- Handle complex billing arrangements, including split billing, multi-payor matters, and billing appeals
- Review and resolve billing discrepancies while maintaining accuracy and timely invoice delivery
- Partner with attorneys, legal assistants, and accounting staff to support the firm's revenue cycle
- Respond to billing inquiries and provide financial information related to invoices, time entries, and payment history
- Maintain billing instructions and client-specific requirements within the accounting system
- Mentor and train junior billing specialists while assisting with process improvements and special projects
Qualifications
Required
- 5 years of legal billing experience within a law firm
- Advanced eBilling experience, including knowledge of client billing guidelines and LEDES file formats
- Experience managing complex billing scenarios such as split billing, multi-payor arrangements, and billing appeals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Preferred
- Experience with SurePoint Legal Management System or Aderant
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or training experience
- College coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
