Connect Search is partnering with a dynamic and growing organization to identify a Tax Compliance & Reporting Specialist for a contract engagement. This role will support critical tax functions across multiple jurisdictions and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance, improve processes, and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities
Indirect Tax (Sales & Use)
- Prepare and submit multi-state indirect tax filings in an accurate and timely manner
- Review transactional data to assess tax applicability and compliance requirements
- Assist with responses to notices, audits, and inquiries from taxing authorities
- Monitor regulatory updates and communicate potential implications to stakeholders
Property Tax & Asset Reporting
- Support preparation of property-related filings and required documentation
- Maintain and reconcile asset data used for reporting purposes
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party providers throughout filing cycles
- Review assessments and assist in identifying potential appeal opportunities
State & Local Income-Based Filings
- Assist with preparation and review of state-level income and franchise tax returns
- Support analyses related to apportionment, nexus, and jurisdictional requirements
- Participate in audit support and ongoing correspondence with taxing authorities
- Conduct research to interpret evolving state regulations and requirements
- Partner with external advisors on compliance and planning initiatives
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to tax planning initiatives focused on efficiency and risk reduction
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams on business initiatives
- Support special projects, including process improvements and system enhancements
- Assist with annual tax provision support (ASC 740)
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of experience in tax compliance (corporate, public accounting, or consulting)
- Experience with multi-state and multi-entity environments
- Prior exposure to audits and regulatory inquiries is a plus
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of multi-jurisdictional tax requirements
- Experience with tax technology platforms (e.g., OneSource or similar tools) preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, reconciliations, reporting tools)
