Job Description – Accounting Assistant
Location: Wauwatosa, WI (Fully Onsite)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $20–24/hr (conversion potential up to $25–26/hr)
Schedule: Preferred 24–30 hours/week; open to full-time for stronger candidates

Overview:
Our client, a well-established engineering firm, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role will support both AP and AR functions and work closely with the accounting leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and enter vendor invoices
- Accounts Payable and vendor payment processing
- Generate draft invoices
- Accounts Receivable support including cash applications and light collections
- Enter new projects into the accounting system
- Timesheet and expense report processing
- Draft payroll entries
- General data entry and administrative accounting support
Required Qualifications:
- Accounts Payable experience
- Exposure to Accounts Receivable (billing, cash applications, collections)
- Experience working within an ERP system
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred (or 5–7 years of relevant experience)
Nice to Have:
- Deltek ERP experience
- Engineering or professional services industry background
