Sr. Cost Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional to play a key role in cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and operational analysis. The position partners closely with finance and operations to improve profitability, strengthen internal controls, and drive continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting and inventory accounting activities, including standard costing and inventory reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support the month-end close process
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, and operational variances
• Partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis
• Assist with inventory counts, audits, and compliance initiatives
• Drive process improvements and enhance ERP reporting capabilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial analysis and special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3 years of cost accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Self-motivated professional with a collaborative mindset and a continuous improvement approach
