Accounting Assistant
Location: Milwaukee, WI (On-Site)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $25–$28 per hour (temp) | $50,000–$60,000 (perm), based on experience

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support accounts payable and general accounting functions in a fast-paced environment. This role will work closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure accurate processing of invoices, payments, and financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts payable, including invoice routing, coding, and posting
- Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and correct GL coding
- Coordinate vendor payments and respond to payment inquiries
- Maintain organized financial records and filing systems
- Assist with check runs and payment distribution
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
- Support additional accounting tasks and ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with accounts payable and basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, basic functions)
- Experience with an ERP system
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
