About the Role
As a Lead Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining high-performance, secure, and scalable network infrastructures that support the organization’s global operations. You’ll collaborate across IT and business teams, ensuring reliable connectivity, strong security, and seamless integration with modern cloud and enterprise technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, high-performance, and scalable network solutions that align with business requirements.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and performance optimizations to support growth and technology advancements.
- Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, diagrams, and operating procedures.
- Monitor, manage, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure stability, security, and uptime.
- Deploy and administer network monitoring tools (e.g., Logic Monitor, Wireshark) for proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Perform regular maintenance, including updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues involving performance, connectivity, and security.
- Provide tier-three network support, collaborating closely with cross-functional IT teams.
- Analyze network traffic and performance data to detect bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks.
- Implement and maintain advanced security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and Zscaler.
- Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Lead or contribute to network infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and technical excellence.
- Partner with internal teams to support new services, applications, and cloud integrations.
- Stay current on emerging networking technologies and best practices, recommending improvements for performance and reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- 10 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on enterprise-scale, complex networks.
- Proven expertise in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware from Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, and similar vendors.
- Strong knowledge of network security technologies: firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Zscaler.
- Proficiency with monitoring and management tools such as Logic Monitor and Wireshark.
- Familiarity with cloud networking on AWS and Azure platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Certifications & Technologies
- CCNP, CCIE, or similar advanced certifications.
- Expertise in Cisco SD-WAN, Aruba Wireless, Cisco Wireless, Meraki, Cisco ISE, and Cisco switches and routers.
