$35/Hr, 8 AM - 5 PM, Mon - Fri, 4Hr/day, 20Hr/Week, 3 Months Contract W2
We are seeking an Electrical Power Systems Intern to support technical tasks and consulting activities related to modern power systems. This is a remote, part-time role (20 hours/week) offering hands-on exposure to power system analysis, automation, and digital grid solutions. You will work closely with experienced engineers to analyze, model, and optimize electrical power systems for industrial, commercial, and utility applications. The internship provides practical experience with advanced simulation tools, data analytics, and energy automation technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and enhancing automation and analysis tools using Python and scripting integrated with PSS®E, TSAT, and PSCAD.
- Support power system studies by analyzing performance data to improve reliability, stability, and efficiency.
- Build, run, and validate power system models using PowerWorld, PSS®E, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, and PSCAD.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support project execution and technical deliverables.
- Participate in data collection, documentation, and occasional site or commissioning support as required.
- Stay informed on industry standards, grid modernization trends, and energy automation technologies.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and protection.
- Strong Python programming skills for data analysis and tool customization.
- Hands-on or academic experience with PowerWorld, PSS®E, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, and PSCAD.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaboratively within a team.
