Our client, a leading global investment firm, is seeking a Vice President, Employee Benefits for the Americas. This individual will be a key member of the Global Benefits team, responsible for the execution, delivery, and ongoing optimization of health & welfare, retirement, and wellbeing programs across the Americas.
This is a hands-on role within a lean, high-accountability environment. The position operates as a close partner to the SVP, Employee Benefits – Americas, translating strategy into execution while owning day-to-day program delivery. The mandate is clear: ensure benefits programs are run with precision, operate effectively at scale, and deliver a strong employee experience.
The role offers full visibility across the end-to-end benefits lifecycle, with responsibility spanning program execution, vendor management, and continuous improvement. It requires someone who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level—able to step into the details while maintaining a high bar for ownership, rigor, and delivery.
Location for this position can be New York, NY, Newport Beach CA, or Austin, TX.
What You’ll Own
- Own and execute benefits programs across health, welfare, retirement, leave, and wellbeing for the Americas
- Operate as a hands-on contributor in a lean team, ensuring accurate, compliant, and high-quality day-to-day delivery
- Serve as a subject matter expert to senior leaderships on benefits design, cost management, complex benefits matters, cost management and risk.
- Manage complex vendor ecosystem (medical, pharmacy, dental, life, disability, EAP, leave, retirement), including performance, negotiations, and renewals
- Lead annual enrollment strategy and execution, including employee communications and engagement
- Oversee compliance across all applicable regulations (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, 5500, RxDC, nondiscrimination testing, PCORI)
- Own leave, disability, and accommodation programs, including parental and statutory benefits
- Leverage technology and automation to improve data integrity, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Partner cross-functionally with People Operations, Payroll, Workday HR, Finance, Tax, Compensation, and broader HR teams to ensure effective and well-coordinated program delivery
What They're Looking For
- 10 years of progressive or related experience in health and welfare benefits including senior leadership engagement experience.
- Deep knowledge in U.S. benefits with exposure to global programs.
- Deep working knowledge in U.S. regulatory requirements (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA) and experience supporting compliant program execution
- Proven ability to operate in a hands-on, high-accountability environment, balancing execution with ownership
- Demonstrates strong operational rigor, attention to detail and hands-on capability while managing multiple priorities
- Experience managing vendors, brokers, and external partners
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and executing with limited structure or resources
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to support both employees and senior stakeholders effectively
- Technical proficiency with Workday’s Benefits Module, Microsoft suite including Outlook, Copilot and Excel
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Comfortable working with data, automation or AI-enabled workflows.
