We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our growing team in San Diego. This role is ideal for a professional with 3 to 4 years of experience who is ready to take on more design responsibility and work on diverse projects ranging from mid-rise commercial buildings to specialized residential structures.
You will work closely with Senior Principals to perform structural analysis, design building components, and ensure all projects meet the rigorous seismic and building code standards of Southern California.
Key Responsibilities- Structural Design: Perform calculations and design for wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
- Analysis: Utilize industry-standard software to model complex structural systems and lateral force-resisting systems.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and MEP engineers to ensure seamless project integration.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed construction documents, including plans, sections, and structural details.
- Field Support: Conduct site visits and structural observations to ensure compliance with design intent and safety standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (or Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis). A Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3–4 years of professional experience in structural design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software (e.g., RISA-3D, SAP2000, ETABS, or RAM).
- Certification: EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is required; PE (Professional Engineer) license in California is a significant plus.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with CBC (California Building Code) and ASCE 7 seismic requirements.
