Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Advisory
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients, gaining a deep understanding of their businesses and ownership structures.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on tax, accounting, financial, and business matters.
- Assume leadership of select client relationships and identify opportunities to expand advisory services.
Tax, Accounting & Consulting
- Lead and review complex tax engagements for closely held businesses and their owners.
- Provide expertise in tax planning, entity structuring, and related advisory matters.
- Oversee financial statement and accounting engagements and support proactive, year-round client planning.
Team & Firm Leadership
- Partner with firm leadership to learn and support the firm's culture, operations, and long-term vision.
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering accountability, communication, and collaboration.
- Support recruiting, training, and organizational growth initiatives.
- Bring practical ideas from a larger firm environment while respecting the culture and relationships that make the firm successful
- Help improve tax workflow, client service processes, and operational efficiency while supporting efforts to modernize operations
- Contribute ideas and best practices that support scalable growth while preserving the firm's client-focused culture.
Required Qualifications:
- Active CPA license
- 10 years of public accounting experience
- Strong experience with closely held businesses and individual owners
- Advanced tax review and planning experience
- Proven ability to manage client relationships independently
- Strong communication, leadership, mentorship, and team-development skills
- Interest in long-term ownership and firm leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current or prior role as Senior Manager, Director, Principal, or Partner-track CPA
- Business development or client expansion experience
- Experience delivering advisory, CAS, outsourced accounting, or fractional CFO-style services
- Experience helping improve workflow, processes, technology, or tax season execution
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary of $150,000-$175,000 annually plus performance-based bonus
