Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Auditor specializing in the nonprofit industry to join our dedicated team. Duties

• Lead financial audits for nonprofit clients, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards).
• Evaluate and enhance internal controls, to mitigate risks and strengthen financial processes.
• Prepare detailed financial report that clearly articulates audit findings, recommendations, and compliance status for management and regulatory bodies.
• Conduct financial compliance audits focusing on governmental accounting standards and nonprofit-specific regulations.
• Oversee the management of internal controls related to financial reporting, risk management, and internal controls frameworks.
• Review and analyze financial statements, general ledger accounting, and accounting software outputs to ensure accuracy and integrity.

• Support the development of audit strategies that incorporate risk assessment techniques aligned with public accounting standards and governmental accounting requirements.
• Identify discrepancies or potential areas of concern within client financial data while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Financial Audit Associate or Senior Auditor within the nonprofit sector or public accounting firms specializing in nonprofit clients.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, COSO frameworks, and governmental accounting standards.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including internal controls management, regulatory reporting, risk management, and technical accounting practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead auditing teams effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and financial software used for general ledger accounting and financial analysis.
• Excellent analysis skills with a keen eye for detail in internal controls evaluation and financial report writing.
• Background in tax experience related to nonprofit organizations is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills capable of translating complex audit findings into clear reports for diverse audiences.
