An established and growing plaintiff personal injury law firm in Houston is seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Attorney to join our team. Responsibilities
- Manage a small team to work a full pre-litigation caseload from sign-up through settlement.
- Develop legal strategies to maximize case value.
- Review medical records, bills, and supporting documentation.
- Analyze liability, damages, and insurance coverage.
- Prepare, review, and approve settlement demand packages.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters.
- Provide legal guidance and maintain regular communication with clients throughout the claims process.
- Supervise and mentor case managers and legal support staff.
- Identify cases requiring litigation and facilitate a smooth transition to the litigation department when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure timely follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with all ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the State of Texas.
- Experience handling plaintiff personal injury pre-litigation cases.
- Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a high-volume caseload while leading a support team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Client-focused with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
- Experience using Filevine.
