A growing construction company providing comprehensive services to commercial clients is seeking an accuracy-driven Payroll Specialist to join its team. This position reports to the Director of Payroll.
Responsibilities:
o Experience with weekly and monthly payroll administration, including:
- Perform new hire setup including I-9 and E-Verify Compliance and data entry
- Maintain and update the employee database to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Termination/layoff processing
- Payroll time entry and reconciliation of union personnel
- Monitor and manage incoming payroll communications via phone and email, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
o Weekly & Monthly compliance reporting of:
- Certified Payrolls. Experience with certified payroll reporting platforms (e.g., LCPtracker, eMars, or similar) preferred.
- OCIP/CCIP reporting on various online portals
- MEUR Reporting
o Maintenance and upkeep of union contracts & rate schedules
o Assistance with child support and wage garnishments
o Support tracking of PTO and time-off records
o Assist with implementation, administration, and optimization of payroll and timekeeping systems, including mobile applications
o Maintain payroll files and perform related administrative duties
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience processing payroll in-house
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Background supporting payroll in union and non-union settings a plus
- Experience processing payroll for a large workforce
- Construction background is preferred
- Understanding of prevailing wage requirements in construction payroll
- Prior experience navigating ERP systems preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality control
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and support
- Advanced administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
