Operations Supervisor

The Operations Supervisor will oversee production workflow at the plant. The candidate will be responsible for coaching, training, resolving opportunities and serving as a liaison between subordinates and upper management. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train employees. The candidate will understand the processes that are under the responsibilities of this position. Most of all we are looking for a genuine and ambitious candidate to fill this role with a dynamic and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during all shifts and all related matters are managed while using the company resources in line with the Health and Safety policies.

· Take full responsibility for executing the proposed manufacturing schedule and SAP documentation of product that is produced within all shifts following the company’s quality systems, processes, and procedures. Documentation includes shift batches, shift reporting, production reports, shift batch closing and material transfers.

· Supervise, develop and motivate staff.

· Ensure clear communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.

· Identify root causes and take fast-effective action to resolve any opportunity that arises by using problem solving skills.

· Work closely with all first, second, and third shift Leads to ensure production handovers are effective while using effective communication tools.

· Maintain an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.

· Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.

· Make appropriate decisions while following the company’s organizational structure.

· Ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.

· Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

· Working in an office environment (30%), warehouse environment, and manufacturing environment (70%).

· Work environment is in a warehouse and temperatures vary between hot or cold based on the ambient conditions.

· Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time as required to accomplish job duties on the manufacturing floor.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

· Must be able to perform repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.

· Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time.

· This is a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.

Minimum Requirements:

· Ideal Candidate: This is a role for someone who is dynamic, self-driven, results-oriented, and above all, who has a positive “CAN DO” outlook. We are looking for an organized, forward planning, logical thinker.

· Schedule: Candidate must be able to work extended hours on occasions and when required. You must be able to work all shifts and schedule informative training meetings when needed.

· Specific Job Skills: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and motivate coherently, both verbal and written, under the principles of manufacturing.

· Work Experience: Minimum 3 years working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; plastics background (preferred).
