What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead .Net Developer position at Confidential?
Lead .NET Developer — Legacy Modernization | Long Island, NY
If you’ve helped modernize a legacy .NET platform—and still enjoy being hands-on with code—this is worth a look.
Our client, a well-established financial services firm, is actively modernizing their technology stack from VB.NET to modern C#/.NET. They need a technical lead who can guide the migration and build alongside the team in a zero-downtime environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the modernization of legacy VB.NET applications to modern C#/.NET
- Work hands-on across the stack (SQL Server, APIs, modern UI frameworks like Angular/Blazor)
- Deliver enhancements while systems remain live and business-critical
- Own quality, performance, and scalability end-to-end
Why This Role
- Real influence on architecture and modernization strategy
- Fully funded, actively underway transformation (not “planning stages”)
- High-impact environment where uptime matters
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools
- Financial services experience—without the NYC commute
What We’re Looking For
- Strong C#/.NET background with VB.NET experience
- Deep SQL Server expertise (design optimization)
- Experience modernizing legacy systems in live environments
- Hands-on mindset with leadership capability
If you’ve successfully taken a legacy platform through modernization, you’ll stand out.
