HR & Office Manager (US Operations)

Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on HR & Office Manager to lead all U.S. human resources and office operations for our growing manufacturing business. This role will serve as the primary HR point of contact across the United States, supporting both hourly manufacturing employees and salaried staff.
This is a standalone role requiring a self-sufficient, detail-oriented professional who can balance strategic HR ownership with day-to-day execution, including payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management
- Serve as the primary HR lead for all U.S. employees across multiple states
- Manage full employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, and employee records
- Support and advise managers on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions
- Administer attendance and points-based systems for manufacturing workforce
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Payroll Administration
- Process and oversee payroll for U.S. employees (multi-state)
- Ensure accuracy of wages, overtime, deductions, and tax withholdings
- Coordinate with external payroll providers as needed
- Maintain payroll records and support audits/reporting
Benefits & 401(k) Administration
- Manage employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and ancillary plans
- Serve as primary contact with benefits brokers and insurance providers
- Administer 401(k) plan, including enrollments, changes, and employee education
- Lead annual open enrollment and benefits renewals
Compliance & Policies
- Maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and company procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FLSA, ERISA, and other applicable regulations
- Support internal audits and maintain proper documentation
- Manage workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
Office & Administrative Management
- Oversee day-to-day office operations and vendor relationships
- Coordinate facilities, supplies, and administrative services
- Support leadership with general administrative and operational tasks
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong experience with payroll, benefits, and multi-state HR compliance
- Experience supporting hourly workforce and plant operations
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently as a department-of-one
- Knowledge of attendance/points systems and employee relations in manufacturing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
- Experience scaling HR processes in a growing organization
