General Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, experienced General Manager to lead the overall operations of our hotel in Cedar City, Utah. This leader will be responsible for driving guest satisfaction, financial performance, team development, sales growth, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality professional who can balance strategic leadership with day-to-day execution while building a strong service culture and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
- Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast, guest services, and overall property presentation
- Ensure the hotel consistently meets brand standards, cleanliness expectations, and service benchmarks
- Conduct regular property walks and inspections to maintain quality, safety, and curb appeal
- Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally to protect guest satisfaction and reputation
Financial Performance
- Manage hotel profitability through strong revenue generation, labor control, and expense management
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly financial performance including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, flow-through, payroll, and GOP
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and action plans to achieve ownership goals
- Review invoices, purchasing, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective operations
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop department leaders and team members
- Create a culture of accountability, recognition, teamwork, and service excellence
- Lead by example and provide consistent communication, direction, and support to the team
- Oversee scheduling, performance management, disciplinary action, and employee engagement initiatives
Sales and Revenue Growth
- Partner with sales and revenue strategy efforts to maximize room revenue and market share
- Build relationships within the Cedar City market to drive corporate, group, and community business
- Identify opportunities for local partnerships, events, and promotions that support occupancy and brand awareness
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to support pricing and business strategy
Guest Experience and Reputation
- Champion a guest-first culture that prioritizes service, cleanliness, and responsiveness
- Monitor online reviews, guest feedback, and service scores and implement improvement plans as needed
- Ensure guests feel welcomed, valued, and cared for throughout their stay
- Maintain strong visibility in the operation and interact regularly with guests and team members
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure full compliance with hotel policies, brand requirements, labor laws, and safety standards
- Oversee property safety, emergency procedures, security practices, and risk management protocols
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and documentation as required
- Ensure all systems, licenses, and inspections remain current and in good standing
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–4 years of hotel leadership experience, preferably as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or comparable senior hospitality role
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations, financial reporting, labor management, and guest service standards
- Proven ability to lead teams, improve performance, and drive revenue
- Experience with Hotel Key PMS systems, reporting platforms, and revenue management tools
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings as business demands require
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
