As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will make it your mission to streamline our financial processes including reporting, forecasting, and cash management. The Controller must have solid communication, technology, analytical, and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Controller Job Duties:
- Direct and manage all aspects of accounting and finance functions, processes, and operations.
- Oversee and provide guidance to accounting department, ensuring effective team support.
- Manage daily accounting activities including general accounting, cost accounting, internal control, account reconciliations, and related fiscal functions.
- Maintain general ledger accounting systems
- Control the cost accounting, general accounting, and budgeting functions.
- Ensure compliance with state sale tax reporting.
- Act as a financial advisor to members of leadership, and work with management team to develop cash flow forecasts and annual budgets.
- Provide analytical support and interpretations of financial information and reports that pertain to the company’s performance and future needs.
- Manage board reporting, monthly accounting close, financial reporting, treasury, annual financial audit.
- Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual board packages and presentations and participate in board discussions.
- Provide ad-hoc management reporting, generate accounting statements.
- Lead month-end closing duties which include ensuring close timeliness and accuracy, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entry preparation/posting and variance analyses, and preparing month-end financial statements.
- Perform a quarterly controller analysis/report.
- Manage the company’s year-end audit process.
- Achieve an understanding of operations to weigh in on business trends.
- Accepted accounting principles (USGAAP)
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Controller Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- CPA certification preferred.
- 10 years of professional accounting and supervisory experience
- Strong technical accounting skills required.
- Demonstrated creativity/innovation, sense of urgency, positively and analytical rigor.
- Ownership mentality with the capability to collaborate across functional lines.
- Experience with the year end audit and interacting with external auditors is required.
- Experience working in a private equity backed company and familiarity with credit agreements.
- Superb attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication/presentation skills required.
- Experience with Infor and Microsoft Office (Desirable)
