Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrician Service Manager to lead and expand our service division in Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical services with experience in both commercial and government projects. This is a long-term opportunity with significant growth potential.
Essential Responsibilities:
Service Management & Operations
Oversee day-to-day service division operations and drive growth.
Estimate and manage service projects, including scope development and cost forecasting.
Evaluate service productivity and recommend improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.
Maintain and manage ongoing maintenance schedules for service accounts.
Schedule service work to optimize manpower utilization and project margins.
Review, approve, and manage customer requests, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Project Management:
Lead service projects from planning through completion, including cost tracking and billing.
Conduct quality control inspections and maintain strong customer relationships.
Prepare detailed documentation for all work performed.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor service team members and field technicians.
Conduct performance evaluations, manage schedules, and oversee timesheet approvals.
Promote safe work practices and participate in incident investigations.
Set clear expectations and ensure adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.
Customer & Business Development
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Support customer acquisition, relationship management, and business development initiatives.
Act as a subject matter expert to assess technical qualifications and ensure high-quality workmanship.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment.
Operate vehicles and equipment safely and report hazards or risks promptly.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working with commercial and government electrical service projects.
In-depth knowledge of electrical and lighting systems, installation standards, and maintenance practices.
Strong project management and estimating experience within commercial construction.
Ability to manage a portfolio of service projects while growing customer accounts.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and basic accounting software.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to meet deadlines with a high level of detail.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role.
Electrical field experience required.
Licensed Master Electrician preferred.
Experience working directly with end-users and service-based customers.
