Dispatcher/Driver

Job Description

The Dispatcher position is directly responsible, under supervision, to provide communication and support services to drivers and clients. Must uphold and support company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise drivers in directions and immediate situations.
• Coordinates dispatching of drivers by receiving and transmitting radio calls.
• Inputs and retrieves computer data quickly.
• Answers questions and provides information to the drivers and clients over the telephone.
• Makes entries into automated computer system.
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date files and logs.
• Do call outs for pick ups & ETA's
• Review pick up/drop off schedules for the following day of service.
• Clearly document all cancellations and no shows of staff.
• Assist driving routes as needed.
• Effectively communicate any problems or issues with managers as situations arise.
• Send emails as documentation for all updates and communication on all matters of concern.
• Help with morning roll out/ handing out routes and supplies as needed.

Pre-Requisites (experience/training/education/certifications):

CDL preferred

Paratransit experience highly preferred

High school degree or G.E.D.

At least 2 years of field experience or equivalent. Uses good judgment in making decisions in emergency and routine situations.

• Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
• Uphold Company polices and protocols
• Ability to effectively interpret contract rules and requirements
• Ability to effectively decipher maps
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communications and organizational skills.
• Bilingual
• MUST HAVE DISPATCH EXPERIENCE.

Must have a pleasing personality and ability to get along with adults. Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities in situation requiring diplomacy, friendliness, confidentiality, tact and good judgment.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Must be able to assist if needed with route consumers and wheel chairs

Lift up to 20 lbs

LICENSES/ Credentials

Valid CDL

DOT Medical Certificate

CPR

Pay: $18.00 - $19.25 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
