What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Marketing Manager position at Confidential?
We're a family of locally-owned Outer Banks businesses operating across hospitality, recreation, and skilled trades. We're hiring an in-house Digital Marketing Manager to own marketing and social media across all of them.
This is not an agency job and it's not a content-only role. You'll be the marketing department — strategy, execution, and everything in between. If you like variety, can switch gears between consumer-facing and B2B audiences, and want to see the direct impact of your work on real local businesses, this role is for you.
What You'll Own
You'll manage marketing for multiple brands under one ownership group. Some are consumer-facing and require an active social presence, strong visual content, and seasonal campaigns. Others are local service businesses where the work is more about local SEO, lead generation, and reputation management. We'll walk through the specific businesses during the interview.
What You'll Actually Do
- Plan and execute social media calendars across multiple brand accounts
- Shoot and edit your own photo and short-form video content on-site (phone-grade is fine; we're not asking for cinema work)
- Write copy — captions, ad copy, email campaigns, website updates, press releases
- Run paid campaigns on Meta and Google
- Manage Google Business Profiles, respond to reviews, and own local SEO
- Build and send email marketing
- Track performance and report on what's working
- Coordinate occasional freelance help (photographers, videographers, designers) when needed
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of hands-on digital marketing experience
- Comfortable being the only marketer in the room — you'll set the strategy and execute it
- Strong portfolio of social content you actually created (not just briefed)
- Proficient with Canva or Adobe, Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, Google Business Profile, and email platforms
- Comfortable working across very different audiences — consumer/lifestyle and B2B/service
- Comfortable driving between sites and shooting content in the field
- Lives in or around the Outer Banks area
Nice to Have
- Experience marketing both consumer and local-services brands
- Drone pilot certification or willingness to get one
- Basic website CMS skills (WordPress, Squarespace)

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
