Summary

The Credit Manager plays a key role in strengthening the company’s financial position by leading our credit and collections function while supporting cash management and forecasting efforts. In this role, you’ll guide credit decisions, oversee customer risk assessments, and help ensure timely collections that support healthy cash flow. You’ll also collaborate across departments to improve processes, enhance visibility into cash needs, and provide insights that support informed financial decision-making. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of analytical work, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership in a fast-moving environment where your contributions truly make an impact.

Responsibilities

· Oversee the full credit approval process, including reviewing applications, conducting bank and trade reference checks, and determining appropriate credit limits and payment terms.

· Continuously assess customer creditworthiness by analyzing financial statements, payment history, purchase activity, and other risk indicators; recommend credit approvals, denials, and special terms.

· Maintain and update customer credit files, histories, and limits; ensure accurate documentation and compliance with internal policies and bank agreements.

· Direct and support collection activities, including reviewing aging reports, managing past-due accounts, resolving billing disputes, and implementing strategies to achieve monthly collection goals.

· Monitor key credit and collection metrics such as DSO, outstanding balances, and delinquency trends; audit delinquent accounts and recommend bad-debt write-offs when appropriate.

· Assist with developing, updating, and evaluating short-term cash flow forecasts by incorporating receivable and payable trends; analyze forecast variances and provide insights to improve cash allocation and liquidity planning.

· Ensure liens, bonds, and other required instruments are properly established and maintained to safeguard company assets.

· Prepare risk assessments and credit reports summarizing findings and recommendations for internal stakeholders.

· Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, finance, and other teams to exchange information, resolve issues, and improve credit-related processes.

· Hire, train, supervise, and develop the credit team; provide ongoing guidance, monitor performance, and implement procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; minimum of six years of credit, treasury, or financial analysis experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

· Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing credit or finance team.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret financial data and assess risk.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact professionally with customers.

· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort working with financial systems, data analysis tools, and reporting platforms.

· Demonstrated customer service orientation and sound judgment when resolving credit, collections, or billing issues.

· Adaptability and willingness to work within evolving priorities while maintaining a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
