The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for the financial strategy, fiscal discipline, and long-term enterprise value creation of one of the nation’s largest independent RIAs. This leader oversees all core finance functions, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, tax, and financial reporting, while partnering closely with the CEO, board, and senior leadership to support scalable growth, operational excellence, and strategic decision-making. The CFO ensures the firm maintains a strong control environment and sound financial infrastructure to support a complex, fast-growing wealth management business.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the firm’s overall financial strategy and align capital allocation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial priorities with business goals and long-term growth objectives.

· Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger, monthly and annual close, financial reporting, internal controls, tax coordination, cash management, and audit support.

· Develop and maintain robust financial models, key performance indicators, dashboards, and scenario planning tools to support executive decision-making and enterprise planning.

· Provide strategic guidance to the CEO, board, and executive team on growth initiatives, profitability, margin optimization, pricing strategy, compensation economics, and investment decisions.

· Drive annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes across the enterprise, ensuring accountability, transparency, and clear financial ownership among business leaders.

· Monitor and optimize liquidity, working capital, debt, banking relationships, and treasury activities to ensure financial strength and flexibility.

· Support inorganic growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, tuck-ins, valuations, due diligence, integration planning, and post-transaction financial oversight.

· Partner cross-functionally with operations, compliance, technology, advisor leadership, and human resources to ensure finance supports the firm’s scale, service model, and talent strategy.

· Establish and enhance financial controls, policies, and reporting processes appropriate for a highly regulated fiduciary environment.

· Oversee the financial implications of advisor compensation models, recruiting economics, productivity, and enterprise profitability.

· Ensure accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting for leadership, ownership, lenders, investors, and other key stakeholders as applicable.

· Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team capable of supporting a sophisticated, multi-entity wealth management organization.

· Evaluate and improve financial systems, automation, reporting tools, and workflows to increase insight, scalability, and operational efficiency.

· Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics affecting RIAs and wealth management firms, and translate those insights into sound financial strategy.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or other advanced financial credential strongly preferred.

· Extensive senior finance leadership experience, ideally as a CFO, divisional CFO, or senior finance executive within an RIA, wealth management, financial services, asset management, or related fiduciary business.

· Demonstrated success leading financial strategy in a complex, growth-oriented organization with multiple revenue streams, evolving advisor compensation structures, and enterprise-scale operations.

· Strong expertise in financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, treasury, and strategic finance.

· Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, integration activities, and enterprise transformation initiatives preferred.

· Deep understanding of financial governance, risk management, and operating discipline in regulated financial services environments.

· Exceptional executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence at the board and C-suite levels.

· Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business recommendations.

· Track record of building and leading high-performing teams, improving processes, and implementing scalable systems and controls.

· High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to fiduciary principles and organizational stewardship.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
