The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations related to cash application, bank activity support, invoicing, intercompany billing, and bank reconciliations. This highly process-driven role requires a self-motivated professional who values accuracy, thorough documentation, and strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitors and post daily cash receipts including GL coding.
- Apply customer payments and intercompany invoices accurately to ensure proper account balances.
- Review daily bank activity and prepare timely and accurate month-end bank reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items in coordination with the Accounting team.
- Prepare and record intercompany invoices and settlement entries; assist with related account reconciliations.
- Maintain current cash schedules, supporting documentation, and complete audit trails.
- Adhere to established internal controls and segregation of duties requirements.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, accounting operations, or general ledger support.
- Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Forward thinking mindset in regard to process & technology improvement with the ability to identify and recommend enhancements.
- Demonstrated experience posting cash, applying payments, and preparing bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions and GL account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (ERP experience preferred) and strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and foundational formulas.
- Working knowledge of internal controls, documentation standards, and audit support processes.
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet recurring deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across accounting and operational teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
