Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Underwriter to assess and evaluate business funding applications. The ideal candidate will analyze financial statements, credit reports, and risk factors to determine the creditworthiness of applicants. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze business funding applications, including financial documents, tax returns, and credit reports.
• Assess risk factors and determine the eligibility of applicants for funding.
• Conduct due diligence and verify business information, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Make recommendations on loan approvals, declines, or modifications based on financial data.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to clarify applicant details and ensure smooth processing.
• Stay updated on industry trends, underwriting best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of underwriting decisions and rationale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, MCAs or a related field (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in underwriting, lending, or credit analysis, preferably in business funding or alternative lending.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and financial modeling tools.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills to explain underwriting decisions to internal teams.
