Job Duties
- Collect and follow up on patient accounts.
- Obtain missing information such as patient demographics and insurance.
- Follow up on accounts with both patients and third party payers; working with Insurance Team to rebill claims.
- Follow up with Insurance Team with regards to: denied claims, appeals &/or claim status not processed within usual claim period.
- Obtains insurance information, when necessary, and forwards to Insurance Team for billing purposes.
- During collection talk-off reads, understands and interprets EOB’s (Explanation of Benefits) in order to determine patient responsibility & properly explain to the debtor.
- Maintains CLS (Collection Software) accounts with appropriate documentation.
- Adheres to Federal, State & Company policies and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
- Must have working knowledge of FDCPA and HIPAA
- Must have working knowledge of medical terminology (i.e.: CPT, ICD10 codes, EOB’s, etc.).
- Experience in CLS, a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as this position handles confidential and financial matters with patients, attorneys, and insurance companies.
- Must be willing to work in a team environment for the overall success of the team
- Must have flexible schedule availability to accommodate late nights & weekends.
- Bilingual-Spanish, a plus
Hours of Operation
Monday-Thursday 8am-8pm
Friday 8am-6pm
Saturday 8am-12noon
This is a full time position (40 hours/week). Schedules are provided monthly, minimum requirements are two evenings per week and two Saturdays per month.
Salary will be based on experience Uncapped Commission Earning Potential & Monthly Collection Contests. Comprehensive company benefits include: Medical, Dental/Vision, Supplemental Insurance, Pet Insurance, 401k Company Match, etc. (most benefits eligible after 90 days).
