Position Summary
The Plant Controller is responsible for leading the accounting and financial operations for one or two manufacturing plants. This role oversees financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance while partnering with plant leadership to drive operational performance and informed business decisions.
The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Plant Controller or Cost Accounting Manager in a job-cost manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial operations for one or two manufacturing facilities.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory, WIP, revenue recognition, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure timely customer invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and payroll review.
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Operations and leadership on financial analysis, capital spending, pricing, and profitability.
- Support internal and external audits and recommend process improvements.
- Lead and develop the plant accounting team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous Plant Controller or Cost Accounting Manager experience in a job-cost manufacturing environment required.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory, and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Salary : $125 - $135
