Our Oil & Gas Technology platform company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee daily accounting operations and support financial strategy. This role partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, revenue, and fixed assets
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reconciliation processes
- Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with tax and reporting standards
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (including sales and property tax)
- Analyze and manage cash flow and forecasting
- Oversee budgeting and work with department leaders on financial planning
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems
- Lead, train, and develop accounting staff
- Oversee logistics-related administrative functions and staff
- Manage customer and vendor contracts, including renewals and compliance
- Coordinate RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (U.S. accredited)
- CPA preferred
- 5 years of hands-on accounting experience
- 5 years of people management experience
- Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Industry-specific accounting experience preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
