Sales & Landscape Design Representative (Up to $200K Opportunity)
My client is a well-respected, established, and growing landscape design-build company looking for a dedicated sales & design professional to represent the company as an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR.
This role is ideal for an experienced candidate who understands:
- Landscaping & hardscaping
- Trust-based selling
- Client qualifications
- A structured sales process
- How to close high-value projects
The Primary Duties for this Role are:
- Pursue qualified residential & commercial candidates (no cold calling)
- Follow up on customer appointments in a timely & professional manner
- Diagnose customer needs, set expectations, and control the sales process
- Create landscape & hardscape designs & estimates using company software
- Develop design concepts, budgets, and estimates
- Close individual landscape & hardscape projects typically ranging from $5k to $300k
- Communicate clearly & professionally with team members & clients
- Represent the company's drive for a high-end brand experience
The Bottom Line:
- You are responsible for first meeting → signed contract.
- You are responsible for assuring customer satisfaction.
What This Role Is NOT:
- Not a “send me a price” offering
- Not a discount-driven sales role
- Not order taking
- Not chasing bad leads
What Specialized Skills are Required:
- Know how to qualify or disqualify landscape & hardscape opportunities, quickly
- Don’t rely on price to win
- Can hold the line & protect margin
- Have the discipline to follow a structured sales process
- Are a self-starter and problem solver who doesn’t need babysitting
It's a Bonus if You:
- Have prior construction or landscape experience
- Have worked in in-home sales or design sales
- Have exposure to Sandler, Challenger, or consultative sales frameworks
Compensation:
- Draw Commission
- Net commission tied to landscape production target of up to $3m in sales, annually
- A top performer will earn annual an annual income of $200,000
- No 401k or Medical Benefits offered
Work Structure:
- Fully-dedicated and engaged independent contractor over 7–8 month primary season (usually Mar-Nov)
- Flexible, part-time work schedule during winter months (usually Dec-Feb)
- Focused, high-output schedule during peak season
- Ongoing sales & design training to continually enhance critical job skills
Qualified Candidates will:
- Complete a DISC assessment
- Go through a structured interview process
- Receive on-the-job training & integration
