Portfolio Manager, Special Situations Credit
Our client, a leading global credit investment fund, is seeking a Portfolio Manager to lead origination and execution across special situations and private credit strategies. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned credit investor with a strong track record across complex, asset-rich, and structurally nuanced opportunities within alternative credit/specialty finance.
The Role
- Investing across a diversified special situations mandate, spanning ABS, litigation finance, CRE credit, distressed claims/liquidations, NAV loans, and esoteric structured financing
- Originating and sourcing new investment opportunities through an established network of intermediaries, banks, advisors, and counterparties
- Leading due diligence, structuring, and negotiation of complex, non-standard credit transactions
- Managing and monitoring a portfolio of positions, including ongoing risk assessment and value creation through the investment lifecycle
- Executing transactions independently, from initial thesis through to close
- Partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (legal, risk, operations) to support portfolio construction and strategy
This is a senior, high-visibility position offering significant autonomy to build out a portfolio, shape strategy, and represent the firm across the market.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable experience investing across special situations, distressed, and/or private credit strategies, with direct exposure to numerous key investment assets
- Strong analytical and structuring capability, with the ability to underwrite complex, non-standard credit risk
- A proven originator with an existing network across intermediaries, advisors, and counterparties
- Track record of sourcing, executing, and managing investments independently
- Prior experience at a credit fund, special situations investor, or similar platform preferred
