Private Equity Associate – Pharma
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Private Equity Associate to support the evaluation, execution, and management of investments across the pharmaceutical sector. This role will involve deep financial analysis, market research, due diligence coordination, and portfolio monitoring, with a particular focus on pharma assets, platforms, and related healthcare opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, transaction experience, and a genuine interest in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector, including branded, generic, specialty, and contract development/manufacturing businesses.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including LBO, operating, valuation, and return analysis models.
- Conduct industry research and competitive analysis on pharma markets, products, pipelines, reimbursement trends, and regulatory dynamics.
- Support all aspects of transaction execution, including due diligence, deal structuring, valuation, financing, and closing processes.
- Coordinate with management teams, investment bankers, lenders, consultants, legal advisors, and other third-party diligence providers.
- Prepare investment committee materials, presentations, and internal memoranda.
- Assist with portfolio company monitoring, including financial performance analysis, KPI tracking, and strategic initiative support.
- Partner with senior investment professionals on value creation opportunities, add-on acquisitions, and exit preparation.
- Track and analyze broader healthcare and pharmaceutical market trends to help inform investment strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, or corporate development, ideally with exposure to healthcare or pharma.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical business models, market dynamics, and regulatory considerations is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in investing and the healthcare/pharma sector.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience evaluating or executing healthcare or pharmaceutical transactions.
- Familiarity with pharma-specific diligence topics such as pipeline assessment, IP considerations, FDA/regulatory pathways, reimbursement, and commercial forecasting.
- Experience working with management teams and external diligence advisors.

Salary : $175,000 - $225,000
