Position Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Chef’s Assistant to join our bed and breakfast team. This role will primarily cover the chef’s two days off each week, ensuring our guests continue to receive a warm, high-quality breakfast experience. The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, takes pride in presentation, and thrives in a welcoming, hospitality-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve breakfast for guests in alignment with our menu and standards
- Assist with light food prep, including chopping, baking, and portioning ingredients
- Plate and present meals with attention to detail and consistency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment as needed
- Monitor inventory and communicate any low-stock items
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Help create a warm, inviting experience for guests when appropriate
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred (especially breakfast service), but not required
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a hospitality mindset
- Ability to work independently and manage the kitchen in the chef’s absence
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Schedule & Compensation:
- 2 consistent days per week (covering the chef’s scheduled days off)
- Hours: early mornings 6 AM – 12 PM
- Pay: DOE
