Coney Island Homecare in Billings, MT is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Hospice DME Coordinator to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you'll help ensure that patients receiving end-of-life care have the durable medical equipment they need — right when they need it. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the ordering, delivery, and retrieval of durable medical equipment (DME) for hospice patients
- Serve as the primary liaison between hospice care teams, DME vendors, and patients' families
- Ensure timely equipment setup and proper functioning in patient homes or care facilities
- Maintain accurate records of equipment orders, deliveries, clean and soiled inventories, and returns in compliance with hospice regulations
- Monitor and manage DME inventory levels and vendor relationships
- Complete all DME cleaning procedures in accordance with the CMS regulations and Conditions of Participation for Hospice
- Collaborate with nurses, social workers, and physicians to assess and fulfill evolving patient equipment needs
- Resolve equipment issues or concerns quickly and compassionately to minimize patient discomfort
- Prior experience in hospice care, home health, or DME coordination strongly preferred
- Familiarity with durable medical equipment, supplies, and hospice care regulations
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and care teams
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and DME ordering systems
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with sensitivity to end-of-life care needs
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required
- Must be 25 years of age or older for insurance purposes
