About the Opportunity
A well-established, premium consumer and hospitality brand is entering a new phase of growth and is seeking an Accounting & FP&A Manager to join its finance team. With plans to expand to multiple new locations over the next 12โ18 months, this newly created role will sit alongside the Controller and play a critical role in both accounting operations and financial planning & analysis.
This is a hands-on position designed for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, understands how transactions flow through the general ledger, and wants broad exposure across accounting, budgeting, and forecasting in a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own core accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Lead AP and AR processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clean postings.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls as the company scales.
- Partner closely with the Controller on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support financial modeling and planning initiatives tied to growth and new location openings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with on-site operations and corporate teams to resolve accounting issues and improve workflows.
- Support systems integration between accounting and operational systems (e.g., POS-to-ERP).
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Qualifications
- Public accounting background required (Big 4, national, or strong regional firm).
- Experience working with small to mid-market or growth-stage clients, including hands-on involvement with journal entries, memos, and transaction-level accounting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to clearly articulate how transactions impact the GL.
- Strong Excel skills and foundational FP&A capability (budgeting, forecasting, analysis).
- Detail-oriented, execution-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across corporate and field-level teams.
Preferred Experience
- CPA certification.
- Exposure to consumer, retail, food & beverage, or hospitality environments.
- Experience working closely with operational data or POS-driven businesses.
