What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Parts Specialist position at ConEquip Parts & Equipment, LLC?
Be the Go-To Parts Pro at ConEquip Parts – Support, Solve, and Strengthen Our Sales Team
Are you a heavy equipment mechanic, parts counter expert, or OEM dealer service pro looking to bring your hands-on knowledge into an office setting? Do you love diagnosing issues, solving puzzles, and helping others succeed?
ConEquip Parts is celebrating 18 years of keeping the construction industry running with fast, reliable access to heavy machinery parts — and the personal touch that keeps our customers coming back.
Now, we’re looking for a Heavy Equipment Parts Specialist to join our growing team!. You’ll be the bridge between our sales team and the technical world of construction equipment — verifying parts, solving compatibility questions, and helping our reps deliver the right solutions every time. If you enjoy working behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly — and love using your equipment knowledge to help others grow — this role is made for you.
Why This Role is Different
- Perfect for the hands-on expert: Whether you’ve turned wrenches on dozers and excavators, worked an OEM parts counter, or supported technicians, this role lets you use your real-world equipment knowledge in a clean, professional office environment.
- You’re the sales team’s secret weapon: Your experience helps ensure every order is accurate, every part makes sense, and every customer gets the right solution—fast.
- Every day’s a learning day: You’ll coach, guide, and strengthen the sales team, helping them understand the “why” behind each part.
- Hands-on impact: Your accuracy and technical insight directly affect customer satisfaction and company performance.
- Room to grow: Deepen your expertise, expand your product knowledge, and build a career in a company that values initiative and teamwork.
What You’ll Do
- Be the expert our sales team turns to for technical guidance on heavy equipment parts, systems, and component compatibility.
- Review and verify sales orders before they’re sent to vendors—ensuring every part, price, and freight choice is correct.
- Communicate any needed corrections back to sales reps as a training opportunity.
- Research and locate parts using part books, diagrams, catalogs, online systems, and OEM-style resources.
- Analyze customer needs and recommend the right parts based on their machine model, serial number, and configuration.
- Build strong relationships with vendors, customers, and coworkers to keep orders moving efficiently.
- Support general office and facility needs to keep operations running smoothly.
What You Bring
- Hands-on knowledge of construction equipment, components, and parts—whether from wrenching, parts counter experience, field service, or OEM dealer work.
- Strong ability to interpret diagrams, schematics, and parts books.
- Confidence navigating multiple systems and screens simultaneously.
- Quick research skills and the ability to track down the right information fast.
- Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Clear communication skills — you can explain technical information in a way sales reps and customers easily understand.
- A team-first attitude and a passion for learning and helping others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
