Essential Functions

• Follows instructions provided by the department manager
• Enforces applicable department procedures and work instructions.
• Assist in managing all activities within department.
• Performs the administrative functions associated with the departmental requirements.
• Participates in and provides data for daily production meetings in manager’s absence.
• Suggests and helps implement continuous process improvements
• Participate in the formation and implementation of department policies and budgets
• Assist employees with setting goals and performance standards
• Ensure that employees follow procedures and maintain productivity levels
• Oversee the research and investigation of process discrepancies
• Train employees regarding new systems, policies and procedures.
• Interact with Human Resources Department in the hiring, coaching, counseling, and termination of staff.
• Investigate improvement of productivity through the use of better technique
• and/or training methods.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Responsible for determining daily labor needs as well as preparing cost and labor reports for upper management.
Required Experience
• A minimum of 3 years prior leadership experience. Candidate must have good communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Thirty (30) days on-the-job training under direct supervision of the department manager or designated trainer is required.
• Additional training requirements will be determined as needed during annual performance evaluation.
• Successful completion of Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT) training for PIT utilized in specific areas as required.
Preferred Education and Experience
• High School diploma or GED is required. Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
