Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Concrete Estimator to join our team in Acworth, GA. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for structural concrete projects including foundations, slabs, tilt-wall, and cast-in-place structures. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, pricing, and the local market.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate takeoffs and cost estimates
- Analyze drawings for structural concrete scopes including footings, foundations, slabs, columns, and walls
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs (rebar, concrete volumes, formwork, etc.)
- Develop bid proposals, budgets, and value engineering options
- Collaborate with project managers, operations, and field teams to ensure estimate accuracy
- Track historical cost data and maintain estimating databases
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Assist in handoff of awarded projects to operations teams
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of estimating experience in structural or commercial concrete
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods and sequencing
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of local Georgia construction market and pricing is preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
