The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for ensuring that all precast and prestressed products meet industry standards, project specifications, and internal performance requirements. This role oversees the QC team, ensures compliance with PCI standards, and drives continuous improvement across production and materials processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Program Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the plant’s Quality Control Plan and all related procedures for precast and pre‑stressed products used in structural, utility, and stormwater infrastructure
- Oversee inspections, testing, curing procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and applicable codes
Team Management:
- Lead and supervise QC inspectors, Batch QC staff, and inspection personnel
- Conduct training on testing procedures, precast standards, safety, and documentation
Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze production and material data to identify trends affecting product performance
- Lead root‑cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and drive process optimization across batching, casting, and finishing
Compliance & Certification:
- Manage compliance with PCI plant certification, DOT requirements and third‑party audits
- Successfully conducting PCI, NPCA, FDOT, and Miami Dade Audits
- Maintain accurate quality records, NCR logs, test data, and corrective action documentation
- Ensure all required paperwork, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and on time
Cross‑Department Coordination:
- Collaborate with production, engineering, scheduling, and project management teams to prevent quality issues and resolve product non‑conformances
Qualifications:
- PCI certification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or related field (preferred)
- 5 years of QC experience in precast/pre‑stressed concrete manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of PCI, ACI, and DOT standards
- Demonstrate leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in reading structural drawings and mix design specifications
