About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Contract Support (MCS) professional to provide acquisition support services for federal contracting activities. The MCS will be responsible for both pre- and post-award acquisition processes, requiring a solid understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulation (VAAR), and other applicable policies. This role supports contracting officers (COs), specialists (CSs), and program offices to ensure acquisition compliance, efficiency, and mission success.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) recent years (within the last five years) providing comprehensive acquisition support with demonstrated knowledge of FAR, VAAR, and related regulations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (any field) OR 24 semester hours in a combination of the following: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization/management.
Required Knowledge & Skills
In addition to ECS-level skills (procurement review, drafting contract documents, market research, invoice/funds management, post-award administration, and QASP monitoring), the MCS must demonstrate:
- Working knowledge of the federal acquisition life cycle.
- Ability to conduct technical and cost/price research and analysis.
- Ability to review and/or write procurement requirements packages.
- Ability to provide business advice to requiring activities and technical experts.
- Ability to develop and analyze Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
- Ability to ensure project milestones are accurately reflected in contracts and plans.
- Ability to support and maintain acquisition strategies, plans, and program office functions.
- Ability to research and interpret acquisition policies, guidance, and regulations.
- Ability to perform cost-benefit analysis.
- Ability to analyze pricing data and draft price reasonableness recommendations.
- Ability to draft and process contract modifications, change orders, and supplemental agreements.
- Ability to monitor contract performance, resolve issues, and support the CO/CS throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
