The school seeks an adjunct voice instructor to teach one-on-one voice lessons as part of its Individual Music Instruction (IMI) program. Students elect weekly lessons of 40 or 60 minutes for the duration of the school year. These lessons are scheduled during the academic school day during mutual free time between the teacher and student. Occasionally, lessons may be conducted before or after school, as needed. The school currently enrolls between 30–40 voice students each year, distributed among multiple voice faculty. Additional responsibilities may include coaching a contemporary vocal ensemble.
The successful candidate will be an experienced pedagogue with a degree in voice performance and/or pedagogy, along with a demonstrated history of successful teaching and performance. Candidates should be comfortable working with students at all levels who are interested in a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical art song and arias to traditional and contemporary musical theater, as well as popular styles (including mic technique). The ability to teach students who self-accompany on piano, guitar, ukulele, etc., is particularly desirable, as is experience making notated vocal arrangements and part recordings.
Your rate per student will be $1,575 for a 40-minute lesson and $2,075 for a 60-minute lesson, based on instruction.
