Material Handler B, Harrisonburg, VA

ComSonics, Inc. has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Material Handler for our Virginia Materials operation located in Harrisonburg, VA.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• 18 months related experience
• Inter-departmental and regular contact with other ComSonics departments.
• Occasional external contact with vendors such as UPS, FedEx.
• Basic knowledge of PC operations.
• MRP experience or proficiency.
• Customer Service Skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Positive work attitude
• Punctuality
• Quality
• Must have the ability to work in a collaborative, team-based work environment.
• Must comply with safety rules and instructions.
• Observes safety and security procedures. Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines. Reports potentially unsafe conditions. Uses equipment and materials properly. Completes mandatory safety training by scheduled deadline.
• Is consistently at work and on time. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. Attends all company and departmental meetings. Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
  
  

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Regularly performs duties without assistance. Duties may include:

• Stock Room Operations including pulling kits
• Shipping and Receiving
• Repair Equipment Staging and Receiving
  
  

Stock Room Operations Includes

• Maintains inventory and other stock records.
• Schedules and enters sales orders and accurately processes.
• Completes return to stock transactions
• Maintains sales demo inventory
• Identifies cycle count discrepancies and determines resolution and corrects.
• Prepares and pulls kits to fill manufacturing work orders. Monitors and processes shortage fulfillment.
• Reports daily activity according to procedure.
• Expected to cross-train and provide coverage as required.
• Monitors and fulfills material shortages to kits, requisitions, etc.
  
  

Shipping And Receiving Includes

• Receives parts
• Enters data
• Weighs packages
• Processes packages for shipping including domestic and international shipments using established procedures.
• Reports daily activity according to procedure.
• Ship against sales orders.
  
  

Repair Equipment Staging And Receiving Includes

• Staging incoming equipment
• Checks all paperwork to insure accuracy and determines appropriate method of shipment.
• Delivers equipment and associated paperwork to the appropriate repair department work center.
• Oversees all Repair Receiving computer transactions and coordinates resolution of errors.
• Provides data and production order status to lateral departments.
• Maintains an organized and clean work area at all times.
• Reports and documents time worked accurately.
• Follows prescribed static protection program at all times.
• Communicates effectively and works closely with fellow associates.
• Arrives to work station promptly and works overtime as required.
• Performs other duties requested.
