Job DescriptionDispatcherThe Local Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling drivers and trucks to ensure efficient and timely transportation of goods and services. This role requires excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to manage daily dispatch operations, monitor routes, and maintain accurate records. The Local Dispatcher plays a key role in supporting drivers, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with company policies and transportation regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule and dispatch drivers and trucks to appropriate locations based on workload, priorities, and customer needs.Monitor and track vehicle locations and job progress using GPS systems, updating all dispatch logs in real time.Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and management to ensure timely deliveries and service calls.Handle incoming calls, service requests, and updates from customers or clients in a professional and timely manner.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of routes, dispatch logs, fuel usage, and driver hours.Resolve delivery, routing, or scheduling issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime or delays.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and local transportation regulations.Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to confirm all vehicles are in safe and optimal working condition.Provide daily and weekly reports on driver performance, route efficiency, and key operational metrics.
