Job Title: Phlebotomist
Functional Group: Phlebotomy
Duration: 3 Months (Extendable or contract to hire)
Schedule: 1st shift - 6AM to 6PM-depending on location might need to arrive at 6AM or work as late as 6PM, shifts will only be 8 hours
Requirements:
2-4 years’ Recent experience as a Phlebotomist
High School Graduate
CA state Phlebotomy license
Active Driver’s License
Location- Tulare, CA - Might be asked to travel to locations in Porterville or Vislia
Duties may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients following established procedures.
Verify patient identity and test orders to ensure accurate specimen collection and labeling.
Collect, label, and process blood and other laboratory specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.
Utilize various collection techniques including butterfly needles, straight needles, and syringe draws.
Handle difficult venous access and high-volume blood collections in fast-paced clinical environments.
Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, storage, and transportation according to protocol.
Maintain infection control standards and safety procedures including proper use of PPE and biohazard disposal.
Enter and update patient information in laboratory information systems (LIS) or EHR systems.
Provide patient care and education, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort during blood draws.
Assist with quality control, specimen tracking, and laboratory documentation.
Train or support new phlebotomists and clinical staff on collection procedures when needed.
Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
