Job Summary
The Senior Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for partnering with business leaders to provide financial insights, reporting, and analysis that support effective decision-making.
This role focuses on financial modeling, sales compensation analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, while building strong relationships with stakeholders across sales, finance, and HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the sales commission process, including monthly accruals, calculations, and analysis
- Partner with business leaders to create financial reports that support strategic and operational decision-making
- Prepare and analyze sales, margin, and annual cost center budgets to ensure realistic growth targets
- Develop and analyze income statement forecasts and explain budget variances
- Monitor financial performance to ensure alignment with business goals and organizational commitments
- Support revenue recognition testing activities and assist with financial audits and compliance requirements
- Build and maintain financial models to support business planning and performance tracking
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, finance, and HR to drive financial insights
- Improve and maintain financial processes, reporting tools, and Excel-based workbooks
- Communicate financial data and insights effectively to stakeholders and leadership
- Build and maintain strong internal relationships to support business operations and decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building and improving financial models and workbooks
- Ability to analyze and communicate financial data effectively to stakeholders and leadership
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis concepts
- Experience working with sales compensation processes and financial reporting
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to quickly learn new tools, processes, and business concepts
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, finance, and HR
- Experience supporting audits, revenue recognition, or compliance activities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build stakeholder relationships
