JOB SUMMARY:
The Office Clerk is responsible for providing on-site and remote support for printing and office equipment. This includes break-fix services, device configuration, customer support, and inventory management. The role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple service tasks while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding equipment support
- Coordinate Move/Add/Change (MAC) processes
- Provide ongoing end-user training on equipment usage
Service Delivery & Technical Support
- Perform break-fix activities (70% of role) including diagnosis and resolution of equipment issues
- Conduct basic device cleaning and replacement of consumables and parts
- Provide IP address support and basic network troubleshooting
- Install printer drivers and configure printer mapping on user systems
- Manage device configuration (IP setup, scanning templates, user access, etc.)
- Monitor and apply software updates and patches
- Escalate complex network or technical issues to appropriate teams
Operations & Reporting
- Utilize client's systems for service call handling and reporting
- Perform accurate data entry for asset tracking and service activities
- Collect equipment meter readings for billing purposes
- Maintain and manage on-site parts and consumables inventory
- Coordinate equipment delivery, removal, and onsite support activities
- Support remote device monitoring and management
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide onsite support for remote troubleshooting cases
- Promote client's office solutions where applicable
- Perform physical and remote device management
- Drive to customer sites if required
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in printer/equipment support or similar technical role
- Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for office equipment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic understanding of networking (IP configuration, printer setup)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with client's or similar document management systems
- Familiarity with remote device management tools
- Experience in field service or onsite technical support roles
EXPERIENCE:
1–2 years of relevant experience in equipment/printer support
