JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Technician A (Laser Assembly Technician) focuses on laser transmitter manufacturing within a cleanroom environment. This role installs, aligns, and operates laser transmitters and components, while assisting in the development of build techniques to ensure successful product output. The technician supports day-to-day operational needs, ensuring quality standards are met and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop techniques and procedures for building lasers
- Assemble and test optical, mechanical, and electrical subassemblies
- Perform optical bonding, cleaning, and inspection of laser units with high attention to detail
- Build wiring harnesses, solder, and perform PCB assembly of electrical and electro-optical subassemblies
- Identify and resolve issues, recommend improvements to increase yield
- Ensure specified quality standards are met for all tasks
- Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in line with company values
- Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Follow established processes to complete tasks
- Perform other assignments as required
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of prior relevant experience in optical assembly.
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be a United States Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives
Preferred Skills
- Experience in optical, mechanical, or electrical assembly
- Familiarity with cleanroom operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
- Problem-solving skills with ability to recommend process improvements
