POSITION: Accounting Manager JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Planning, organizing and coordinating the month end close process ensuring all journal entries and accruals are properly recorded in accordance with US GAAP and company policy. Establish, maintain and test internal controls, ensure that proper accounting procedures are followed by all departments. Maintain and drive the development of accounting policies. Ensure compliance with financial policies, US GAAP, contractual agreements, and government regulations. Streamlining reporting, business processes, account analyses and transaction entries through ERP automation initiatives. Design and maintenance of standard and ad hoc reporting. Responsible for assisting with the interim and year-end financial audit. Assist business leaders as needed and make recommendations to finance management for process improvements or changes as a result of changes in business. Conduct in-depth financial analysis; providing expert financial perspective and opinions; proficient in spreadsheet design to facilitate complex analysis; and instrumental in helping to assess risk, analyze efficiency and inform business decisions made by executive management. Recommend process and control enhancements to general accounting functions to promote efficiencies, decrease closing time and allow more timely and useful data to finance and senior management. Then implement those enhancements and provide training as needed. Lead and/or participate in special projects and activities as assigned. Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals including regular feedback sessions, performance reviews, leading, motivating, coaching, problem resolution, support, and professional development opportunities. Adapt to various situations and adjust to shifting priorities. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 10 years of relevant and progressive accounting experience. 7 years Demonstrated experience in managing, leading, and coaching an accounting/finance team.
