We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager / People Operations leader who can help us professionalize and scale our people operations function across multiple states and operating entities.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated HR leader who can take ownership of our people operations infrastructure.
You will be responsible for both day-to-day HR execution and strategic systems-building, helping us move from reactive issue management to proactive leadership development, compliance, and scalable workforce processes.
This person will be a key operational partner to leadership and departmental managers.
You will help install standards, ensure consistent execution, and support integration of future acquisitions into the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Core HR Operations
- Own daily HR administration across a multi-state workforce of 100 employees
- Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, role changes, documentation, and benefits coordination
- Serve as the primary internal HR resource for managers and employees
- Manage HRIS and employee records systems
Payroll & Benefits
- Own and oversee payroll workflows, accuracy, timing, and issue resolution
- Coordinate closely with finance/accounting and our PEO
- Ensure multi-state payroll compliance, tax setup, and labor law adherence
- Optimize benefits administration and employee support
PEO Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO)
- Ensure we are fully utilizing embedded tools and services including compliance support, training resources, handbook tools, HRIS workflows, benefits administration, and reporting dashboards
- Hold the PEO accountable for service quality and deliverables
Compliance & Policy
- Upgrade and maintain our employee handbook
- Build and manage multi-state compliance processes
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Standardize policies, SOPs, documentation, and performance management workflows
Performance Management & Leadership Development
- Design and run structured performance review cycles
- Coach departmental leaders on employee documentation, performance conversations, corrective action workflows, and conflict resolution
- Help managers resolve lower-level employee issues before formal HR escalation
- Develop manager training systems and playbooks
Strategic Growth & M&A Integration
- Support workforce integration for acquisitions and roll-up transactions
- Assist with due diligence on HR, payroll, and compliance during acquisitions
- Standardize onboarding of acquired teams into platform workflows
- Support organizational design and workforce scaling initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- 5 years in HR, people operations, or HR management
- Strong hands-on payroll administration experience
- Multi-state employment and payroll compliance knowledge
- Experience working with or managing a PEO relationship
- Proven ability to build systems and process discipline
- Strong performance management and manager coaching skills
- Excellent documentation and policy writing skills
Highly Preferred
- Healthcare HR experience
- Experience in multi-site healthcare organizations
- Familiarity with MSO-PC structures
- M&A integration or acquisition onboarding experience
- Experience supporting scaling organizations
- Exposure to provider groups, laboratories, dermatology, or specialty healthcare settings
