Role Overview
The Test & Repair Operations Manager owns end-to-end manufacturing test operations, ensuring production output, yield, and cost targets are consistently achieved. This role is responsible for scaling, stabilizing, and optimizing test operations across all shifts while ensuring alignment with factory throughput and customer delivery commitments.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role focused on execution, accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Own:
- End-to-end production test and repair operations
- Multi-shift manufacturing support (24/7 readiness)
- Throughput, yield, and repair performance across production
- Capacity planning and operational scaling strategies
- Cross-functional operational alignment with engineering and manufacturing teams
Key Operational Metrics:
- UPH (Units Per Hour)
- First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Cycle Time (CT)
- Time to Repair (TTR)
- Test efficiency and operational cost
- Capacity vs production demand
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Ownership & KPI Delivery
- Align test operations with manufacturing takt and output targets
- Drive KPI reviews with clear accountability and action ownership
- Ensure operational execution meets production and customer delivery commitments
- Maintain operational discipline across all shifts
Capacity & Scaling Strategy
- Define headcount and capacity models based on production forecasts
- Support NPI ramp activities through mass production
- Ensure readiness across staffing, equipment, and manufacturing processes
- Build scalable operational frameworks for long-term growth
Repair Operations Leadership
- Lead repair technical teams and repair logistics execution
- Ensure escalation paths are followed for critical issues
- Reduce repair backlog and improve turnaround efficiency
- Drive accountability across repair operations
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Infrastructure teams
- Support manufacturing efficiency and operational optimization initiatives
- Act as the operational voice during NPI and continuous improvement activities
- Drive alignment between factory execution and engineering objectives
Required Qualifications:
- 10–15 years of manufacturing test and operations experience
- 5 years of leadership experience managing technical manufacturing teams
- Strong people leadership and team development skills
- Experience operating in high-volume manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of server hardware platforms including CPU, memory, storage, and power systems
- Understanding of manufacturing test flows and repair operations
- Experience with KPI-driven operations and data analysis tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Power BI preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, and SPC fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GPU systems and liquid cooling technologies
- Hyperscale manufacturing experience
- Exposure to factory automation environments
- Six Sigma certification
- Engineering degree preferred
